"I was waiting until I was perfect to love myself, little did I know that I was going to wait forever. When I decided to love myself, I discovered I was perfectly imperfect"

Her Story

Seven years ago Marisa Rugnetta weighed 440 pounds and could barely walk to the bottom of her stairs, never mind climb them. Marisa had hit rock bottom and hoped that food would kill her! She felt it was her only way out of a body she hated, in a life that had little meaning. She has horrible memories of taking her son to the park and walking halfway round then realizing she can't get back. Sitting on the park floor, waiting for her body to recover and bad thoughts flooded her mind.

Because of her size, using transport such as trains and planes were a complete no as they would be uncomfortable and embarrassing. Something as simple as renting or buying a car was a major task. Even visiting friends and peoples houses became a nightmare. She also took to reading online reviews to see if the restaurant she may visit had open armchairs, as to see if she could fit before showing up.
She thought to herself that something must change or she would soon die.

She eventually battled through and as of today has lost an incredible 280 pounds.

complications
After complications with bariatric surgery that almost cost her her life, Marisa had to fight every day to survive. Marisa spent the next 20 months after her weight loss surgery fighting to get her health back.  She had many hospital stays, a revision surgery, multiple feeding tubes, and countless appointments. At her lowest point, she weighed 125 pounds (she stands 5'11"), a feeding tube in her arm and one through her nose and didn’t see light at the end of her tunnel. Many days she would pray to not wake up as she went to sleep, only to accomplish her day upon waking up. She knew that if she was going to live, she was going to fight. Moving in blind faith towards her health goals, things started to turn around and Marisa saw her improvement in her health as a second chance at life.

Today Marisa is a shadow of her former self. Her life is on track and she is sharing her love for life with everyone she meets. Marisa has grown to be one of the most positive smart and enthusiastic people you will ever meet. Her aim in life is to help other people in the same position she was in before not only with weight issues but from depression to business.
